This is a hands-on, in-plant position with responsibility for the overall efficiency and performance for each unit. This includes identifying heat rate gains/losses, communicating those gains/losses to the station on a daily and monthly basis and most importantly working with operations and maintenance to identify and correct problems associated with degraded unit efficiency. Other responsibilities include maintaining the performance monitoring program “Pi” by ensuring all the calculations are correct and data inputs are good quality as well as executing regular performance tests on critical equipment (turbines, pumps, etc) and combustion optimization. The successful candidate will demonstrate organization and communication skills combined with an enthusiasm to improve as a team.

· Degree in engineering with emphasis on heat transfer
· Understanding and execution of thermal performance assessments, combustion tuning and instrumentation
· Ability to calculate large component performance (i.e. boiler efficiency, turbine efficiency, Air Heater, Condenser, etc) and identify short term corrective actions through operational controls and long term improvements via capital projects.
· Ability to train operations and maintenance personnel to improve their understanding of how they can positively impact unit performance
· Intimate knowledge of “Pi” performance monitoring software and performance testing equipment/procedures
